A non-profit animal welfare organization committed to eliminating the euthanasia of adoptable animals. Programs and services that save the lives of healthy and treatable animals include prevention through humane education, low cost and no-cost spay and neuter, low-cost vaccinations, micro chipping, shelter and care, and adoptions to lifelong homes. A non-profit organization dedicated to serving the elderly throughout the Coachella Valley. By providing programming and financial aid to elderly citizens, Desert Samaritans has cared for tens of thousands of seniors that other organizations have not been able to help.

PALM SPRINGS POLICE DEPARTMENT MOUNTED ENFORCEMENT UNIT
The Mounted Enforcement Unit (MEU) is a group of sworn police officers who volunteer their time for extra duty on horseback. The unit consists of three city-owned horses and three privately owned horses. The MEU is funded by private donations and the support of local residents. The MEU officers and their mounts have received training from personnel in the elite Los Angeles Police Department Metro Unit.

VIRGINIA WARING INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION
Promotes culture and education to the residents and visitors of the Southern California Desert through its educational outreach programs and by holding a biennial world-class piano competition with participants coming from around the world.
